Over 160 people enjoyed great food, fellowship, dancing, and bidding for fabulous silent auction items last Saturday night at the That’s Amorley! Blue Jean Ball. Prize Pool items were sold out in less than an hour and raised almost $400. The raffle generated $1,230 and our lucky winners were Bets Frederick (Sartor Hamann pendant) and Angela Kiani (drive in the Ferrari). Morley PTO Bylaws Revised and For Your Review
The Bylaws Review Committee, consisting of Jill Eicher, Anne Loudon, Amy O’Neill, and Sarah Bienka, spent considerable time reviewing the PTO’s current bylaws to ensure they were up-to-date with our current practices. Many of the corrections centered around the changes in names of the Executive Board, such as Vice President to President Elect. Each officer’s stated duties were thoroughly examined. The fall and spring general PTO meetings were clarified so that during the fall meeting, the PTO budget will be voted upon; and during the spring meeting, the slate of new officers will be voted upon. The bylaws will be voted on at our spring general meeting on Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. at the Abbott Sports Center. If you have any questions regarding the changes, please contact Jill Eicher.

Teacher Appreciation Week (March 3rd - 7th)
Please note that this week is a time for us all to recognize the efforts of our children’s teachers, and to express our sincere appreciation for what they do each and every day for the sake of our children. As a PTO, we will be hosting a breakfast for our teachers on Tuesday, March 2nd. We will also be providing a small gift to each of them, to thank them for their time, talents, and dedication to providing a quality educational foundation for our children. Morley is very blessed to have such talented, caring faculty and we thank them for all that they do!

Based on long-range planning goals and research which suggests that childhood obesity is at an all-time high, Morley School has agreed to sign on with the “Alliance for a He althier Generation” and their “Healthy School Program." As part of our Wellness Committee, we are looking at getting a Weight Watchers Group to possibly form at Morley.

Food Tasting Comes to an End
There was a delay in our ‘unusual food tasting’ last week due to non-delivery of our star fruit. Thus, earlier this week (on March 1) our children finished their last tasting for this segment of our Fuel Up To Play for 60 Grant.

Long-Range Planning Committee Begins Meetings for this Year
The Long-Range Planning Committee had its first meeting of the year last week and reviewed goals and objectives. The next step will be to solicit ideas, wish lists, and needs for teachers and staff for next school year. Suggestions already made were new playground equipment and an outdoor classroom along with attempting to fulfill ongoing technological needs. If you have suggestions, please contact Jill Eicher at president@morleypto.org.
